Description

Role: Director, Quality Assurance - Full-time Employee

Location: Charleston, South Carolina, USA

As the PTW Director of Quality Assurance, you will lead and manage the global development QA organization. This includes overseeing a large global team, workforce planning, staffing, and processes, while supporting other leadership directors. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of QA, including feature development, automation, testing capabilities, and compliance.

You will collaborate closely with our clients’ Game Development and Publishing teams to address everyday challenges and streamline deliveries. By partnering with our clients’ development disciplines, you will proactively innovate and enhance our QA philosophies and best practices. You will manage and mentor Quality Assurance professionals, fostering the growth of QA leadership to cultivate new leaders. As the QA Director, you will ensure global alignment within the development QA organization and establish clear communication at all levels.

Ideal candidates will be located in Charleston, SC, USA. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, this role is a key strategic partner in leading our Quality Assurance line of business and may also oversee our Localizations QA line of business on an interim basis.

What You’ll Be Doing

Process Management

  • Analyze and determine resource requirements to support current QA/LQA needs.
  • Forecast and communicate future QA/LQA needs.
  • Implement and manage QA/LQA operations to support organizational objectives.
  • Manage daily client deliverables and achievable revenue.
  • Evaluate milestones and ensure timely and scheduled testing for each title.
  • Nurture and develop the skills and utilization of our QA/LQA team.
  • Prepare and review proposals based on RFPs and RFIs from new clients.
  • Ensure processes and documentation comply with business and third-party audit requirements.
  • Develop, set, evaluate, and evolve standards for success across the test organizations.

Client Satisfaction

  • Assess client requirements for new business.
  • Chart and assess requirements for existing clients.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by delivering on requirements.
  • Develop professional relationships with targeted clients.
  • International and local travel may be required throughout the year.

Project Management

  • Understand client business and project SLAs.
  • Ensure receipt of client business information, product knowledge, scripts, etc.
  • Ensure monthly billing details of each project are sent to the Accounts Department.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for clients.
  • Manage daily client deliverables and achievable revenue.

Revenue

  • Be aware of revenue projections and targets.
  • Meet revenue and margin targets for departments.
  • Collaborate with sales on new business proposals.
  • Manage the profitability of each account.

People Management

  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and technical support for all projects.
  • Develop QA/LQA management teams to enable excellence.
  • Foster an environment of creativity and innovation within the testing team.
  • Facilitate the development of technical and non-technical skills within the team.

Compliance, Process Reengineering, and Others

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all audit and informational security requirements, including ISO audits and client-specified compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance, implementation, and auditing of all processes.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 10-15 years of experience in the games industry across multiple platforms (PC/Console/Mobile); game services experience is a plus.
  • Significant leadership experience, managing and growing a QA/LQA team across multiple functions, projects, and locations.
  • Ability to balance hands-on work in a fast-growth environment while driving big-picture strategy and planning to support a scaling business.
  • Strong partnership-building skills and the ability to drive high levels of collaboration across the organization, including with Executives, Sales, and Support Functions, as well as global and local stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients and/or external testing services, managing the end-to-end process of RFP reviews, contract negotiations, and building the structure to support varied and scaling needs.
  • Strong adaptability while promoting an inclusive and collaborative environment for the team.
  • Proven people leader capable of driving change and inspiring a global team.
  • Data-oriented with experience using test automation systems (either off-the-shelf or custom) and involvement in defining usage and driving adoption.
