The Director P&C GSA will work closely with the local General Manager and partner with the senior leadership team in Germany using their P&C expertise and commercial understanding to provide positive change and advice on the organizational and people priorities, WBD one team culture and Guiding Principles. In addition, this leading P&C role in GSA will have responsibility for supporting EMEA functional leaders in the matrix organization and leaders outside of EMEA who have teams based in the region.

The Director P&C GSA will work closely with the Workers Council and Economical Committee on employment law and collective law related projects and policies. As a member of the wider EMEA P&C Team, the Director P&C GSA will participate in global projects, drive important initiatives, collaborate and share successes and challenges for the region.  This position will collaborate closely with local and matrix P&C Business Partners, employment legal, P&C Centres of Expertise (CoE), Global Business Services and other corporate functions to achieve and maintain the common corporate goals.

The Director P&C GSA is a member of the Western Europe & Africa P&C team, which is based in Paris, Hamburg, Munich and Amsterdam and reports into the Senior Vice President People & Culture EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide business support and partner with key business stakeholders to continuously review people and the organizational structure to ensure it is fit to deliver commercial success

  • Proactively support initiatives and organizational changes to align with the wider WBD business, global streaming vision and M&A related change projects

  • Maintain close collaboration with the Workers Council and Economical Committee in Germany, manage relationships and oversee complex negotiations

  • Extensive cooperation with the EMEA and global P&C team on harmonization of WBD programs, policies and global P&C projects

  • Work in partnership with employment legal and CoE teams, such as Employee Connection, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Operations, Compensation & Benefits, DEI etc

  • Be a trusted and competent human resources partner to the local leadership team

  • Mentor, develop and coach the local P&C Business Partner team

  • Ensure talent management, succession planning as well as team development needs are addressed in the organization

  • Lead or partner on P&C related projects and support the roll out of global P&C initiatives

  • Support to build a rich and diverse organization through all layers in cooperation with DEI team

  • Support the culture of ongoing open and honest feedback

  • Work closely with the local business and finance CoE to manage & coordinate the forecast, personnel budget and year end processes

  • Provide necessary support to all kind of audits and financial statements

Your Experience

  • Relevant University Degree (Bachelor, Master, Diploma) or relevant professional training with experience in a comparable job

  • Very familiar with the majority of the elements of the function as described above

  • Extensive relevant P&C / HR management experience, preferably in a global matrix organization

  • Deep knowledge of employment practices and legislation for the countries supported, proven ability in managing complex labour relations

  • Proven ability in collaborating with works council, managing complex negotiations of Social Plan as well as Workers Council Agreements

  • Established Organizational Design and Change Management skills

  • Experience with the P&C process requirements of a multi-national group and used to work in an international business environment

  • Team leadership experience, ability to share own HR knowledge and skills to develop others and embodies collaboration

  • Credible and results driven – able to lead major projects and change programmes

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex personnel and legal content to relevant internal and external stakeholders

  • Commercial thinking – curious about the business and actively contributes to the discussions

  • Willingness to question and optimize existing and new processes

  • Ability to work on own initiative under high pressure and tight deadlines and prioritize workload effectively

  • Excellent MS Office skills

  • User experience in HCM systems, preferably Workday

  • Fluent German & English in speaking, reading and writing
