The Laundry System Mechanic at Walt Disney World is responsible for the repair, modification, and rebuilding of all laundry system equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical, electronic, and pneumatic controls, including PLCs and relay logic. The position involves troubleshooting equipment to the board level, rebuilding pumps, valves, and regulators, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance. Work may involve elevated platforms and confined spaces. The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in the electrical field and proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics. Full-time availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required. The hourly pay rate is $39.48, and select benefits may be provided.
Must have:
  • 4+ years electrical field experience
  • Steam & hot oil systems knowledge
  • Troubleshooting electrical/electronic/pneumatic controls
  • PLC, relay logic, ladder logic experience
  • Blueprint/schematic reading
  • Fault isolation & repair
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills

Come talk with our recruitment team and learn more about our FOS Maintenance Teams who provide excellent service and support to all of Walt Disney World! This event is open to the public and will focus on finding talent for maintenance roles. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to apply and interview on site. Some candidates may even be hired on-the-spot!

  • Full Time Laundry System Mechanic
Full Time requires full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $39.48 per hour.

The Laundry System Mechanic is more than just a modern-day electronic technician. They are responsible for repair, modification, and rebuilding of all laundry system equipment. The Laundry System Mechanic is expected to have a strong working knowledge of electrical and electronic laundry devices and the ability to troubleshoot the equipment. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of laundry systems
  • Utilize a variety of testing equipment for troubleshooting of equipment and systems to the board level
  • Rebuild pumps, valves, and regulators
  • This position requires a one-year minimum commitment
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in the electrical field
  • Must understand steam and hot oil thermal systems
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and pneumatic controls
  • Experience with PLCs, relay logic and ladder logic
  • Ability to pass a technical proficiency test
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
  • The ability to perform fault isolation and repair failed systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman license
