We Offer:
As our Global Category Manager – Maersk Ground Freight & Ecommerce you will own our global procurement strategy for non-containerized transportation within the middle and last mile space and oversee our $2billion spend per year. You will be the global responsible of the category and set direction, set up structures and systems to drive success and cost leadership together with 25 Procurement area teams with colleagues in 100+ countries.
Maersk Ground Freight & Ecommerce includes transportation services like FTL, LTL, Brokerage, Cross border trucking, Groupage, Ecommerce solution and last-mile delivery. The category is the engine of Maersk's growth to become the global integrator of container logistics in connecting the strategic legs within our customers’ supply chains.
Key Responsibilities:
Spearhead Maersk Ground Freight & Ecommerce Procurement: you will be the owner and face of the category inside and outside Maersk.
Own the Global Procurement Strategy for Maersk Ground Freight & Ecommerce and link it to the commercial product roadmap and business requirements.
Work hands-on with local procurement teams to deliver on our cost agenda, including segmenting and prioritizing key projects and supporting the most important negotiations.
Drive category performance, standards, and compliance by defining and monitoring key performance indicators.
Develop and maintain the global procurement policies and frameworks in cooperation with the global and regional procurement teams.
Support the roll out of our global transport management system and other strategic initiatives e.g., rate digitization and procurement automation.
Lead the Maersk Ground Freight & Ecommerce Community, driving engagement and best practices sharing and adoption.
Document category market know-how, procurement best practices and success stories and drive their implementation.
Besides your category responsibilities, you will take active participation in setting the direction for our team. You will represent procurement in cross-functional strategic workstreams and ensure that we are creating a real impact across Maersk and within our supplier landscape.
We are looking for:
Extensive experience in corporate procurement, supply chain or commercial role in Maersk or a similar international company.
Knowledge of non-containerized transportation segment (FTL, LTL, Groupage, Ecommerce etc.)
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contractual terms.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you can build rapport with people on all levels and have a top-tier facilitation and coaching toolkit.
Ability to drive change management in operations and digital transformations.
Proactive personality – you can take ownership, work independently, and achieve results as a team player.
Eagerness to be best in class and part of a winning team.
The job is based in Copenhagen and travel is expected as part of the position.
