The Team:

The Planning Team, within the Global Supply Chain department, is here to make a difference as One Team to enable Mattel to win and deliver profitable growth through the right Demand, Supply & Inventory. We connect the dots across functions through the Business Planning process, focusing on People, Service, Cost and Cash. The Planning department plays a critical role in the journey to transform the overall Supply Chain into a competitive advantage.

The US Demand Planning team executes key business processes and interacts with sales, marketing, and global supply planning partners to drive an accurate demand plan.

Job Description

The Opportunity: 

The Lead Demand Planner on Barbie reports to the Sr Manager Demand planning who is responsible for Regional S&OP and the US demand plan. Day-to-day responsibilities include short term analysis of point-of-sale performance and shipping trend, as well as long term category planning and forecasting. This planner will be a subject matter expert on seasonality profiles and will play a vital role in improving overall variance and bias metrics.

  • Collaboration:  The ideal candidate will build constructive and effective cross-functional relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners.
  • Influencing & Negotiation:  The ideal candidate will present ideas and directions that lead others to action.
  • Presentation:  The ideal candidate will communicate clearly and effectively in a variety of presentation settings including one-on-one, small and large groups, and with peers and executives.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ (or MBA with 3 years) of related experience
  • Thorough understanding of inventory management
  • Proven experience in demand planning and forecasting
  • Strong understanding in data analysis and statistics
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience gathering and documenting process and tool requirements
  • Comfortable moderating meetings, delivering oral presentations and /or training to large groups; strong communication skills to deliver business updates and influence business decisions
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

Preferred:

  • Experience with JDA/Blue Yonder/Anaplan
  • Experience with Tableau/Cognos/Thoughtspot
  • Experience with VBA/SQL programming

The annual base salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $125,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
