Job Description

ByteDance is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join its database development team. This team is responsible for building and owning database products used by TikTok's infrastructure, including relational databases, distributed cache, key-value stores, document stores, and Graph stores. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will lead the design and development of ByteDance's in-house DocumentDB architecture and optimize the storage engine of ByteDance's DocumentDB. The ideal candidate will have experience with MongoDB or AWS DocumentDB, as well as experience in high-traffic, large-concurrency scenarios. This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills. The position is based in the United States and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, communication, or related fields.
Proficient in at least one or multiple languages from C/C++/Go/Python in the Linux environment.
Familiar with the principles, architecture, and implementation of MongoDB/AWS DocumentDB.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Good to have:

Understanding of technical challenges in cloud service architecture and corresponding solutions.
Experience in high-traffic, large-concurrency scenarios, with MongoDB or NoSQL database kernel development experience.

Qualifications

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $410000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
