Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

As an Interconnect Commodity Manager in the Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO), you will play a critical role in driving suppliers to execute and manage supplier relationships ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials at the best possible cost. You will partner with executive interconnect Global Commodity Management (GCM). You will provide inputs to the commodity strategy and execute on them. You will help build, scale, and standardize first-tier and sub-tiers components that supply ecosystems with a high degree of effectiveness and efficiency. You will lead performance management through metrics and supplier reviews and drive exceptional supply chain improvements. You will engage with engineers and cross-functional teams on next generation technology initiatives focused on driving multi-sourcing goals and qualifications in the NPI product life cycle. You will maintain a high sensitivity for industry/technology intelligence and market supply/demand conditions.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running.
