Job Description
Google seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Accelerators Systems Software Architect to provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, coach engineers, and manage project priorities. The role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale software solutions. Experience in firmware development, diagnostics, hardware bring-up, computer architecture, and data structures/algorithms is essential. The position requires collaboration across teams and managing deadlines within a complex organization. This role contributes to the next generation of technologies supporting billions of users.
Must have:
- 8+ years software development experience
- 5+ years testing and launching software
- 3+ years software design and architecture
- Firmware development, diagnostics, hardware bring-up
- Computer architecture expertise
- Technical leadership and project management
Good to have:
- Master's/PhD in Engineering or Computer Science
- 8+ years data structures/algorithms experience
- Linux Kernel, Internals, Open Source, Networking Protocols
- High-performance computing experience
- Experience in complex, matrixed organizations

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.

Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience in computer architecture, high-performance computing.
- Experience in Linux Kernel, Linux Internals, Open Source Contribution and Networking Protocols.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
