Rippling is seeking a Head of Americas Compliance to lead its compliance program, particularly for payments and lending financial services. This role involves partnering with Legal, Finance, Operations, Security, and Product teams to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements such as AML and KYC. The Head of Americas Compliance will build and oversee a comprehensive compliance program, manage regulatory reporting, implement risk frameworks, and collaborate cross-functionally to embed compliance into business decisions. The ideal candidate will drive process efficiency, educate employees and the board on compliance, and monitor business activities. This is a leadership position focused on scaling compliance in a high-growth fintech environment.

Rippling is looking for a highly-motivated and proactive Head of Americas Compliance to lead our compliance program across our product suite including payments and lending financial services. You will partner closely with our Legal, Finance, Operations, Security and Product teams to meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including AML, KYC, and money transmission laws, while providing a great product experience for our customers.  You have a passion for efficiency and building scalable approaches in the ever-changing world of technology and product growth. The Head of Americas Compliance will be responsible for building and overseeing a comprehensive and well documented compliance program that ensures that the organization identifies and manages compliance risk and follows applicable laws and regulations.

What you will do

  • Lead U.S. and Canada compliance strategy and execution. Own the U.S. and Canada compliance program, including policy development, internal controls, and regulatory engagement.
  • Manage regulatory reporting. Ensure timely and accurate filings of applicable submissions.
  • Implement risk frameworks. Identify and assess compliance risks, develop mitigation strategies, and oversee applicable testing and incident response plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. Work with product, engineering, legal, and operations to embed compliance considerations into business decisions.
  • Drive process efficiency. Streamline compliance workflows to enable scale while maintaining a strong control environment.
  • Educate and train employees and the board on compliance obligations and risks. 
  • Engage with and advise senior management and staff on all issues concerning U.S. and Canada compliance rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Develop and execute monitoring and testing of business activities, including the annual compliance program review, to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Hire, mentor, and grow high-performing teams that consistently meet and exceed quarterly goals and targets

What you will need

  • 10+ years of experience in managing Compliance programs, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing teams, preferably in a global fintech or SaaS environment.
  • Eager for a very hands-on role, where you’ll be asked to take on and run with a range of initiatives outside your comfort zone and learn quickly
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to the industry. Familiarity with compliance frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communicator both internally and externally, with ability to break down complex regulatory requirements into easy-to-understand and practical advice.
  • Proficiency in using compliance testing tools and software.
  • Demonstrated success in teams, driving process improvements, and meeting key performance targets within a high-growth organization.
  • A learning mindset, people-first attitude, and strong sense of responsibility 
  • Sense of humor
