The Managing Principal - Construction role involves managing a portfolio of key construction accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service and contributing to the company's profit objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in account management within the construction industry, a strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation, and excellent communication skills.

Managing Principal – Construction

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Principal to join our Construction Practice.  This role will be based in Auckland and is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of key construction accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service and contributing to our company's profit objectives. If you are a strategic leader with a strong background in construction and risk management, we want to hear from you!

We will count on you to:

  • Manage and develop a team of Account Executives and support staff, ensuring effective communication, delegation, and performance management.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, understanding their business and risk management needs to deliver tailored solutions.

  • Oversee the preparation and achievement of team business plans, maximizing account profitability through efficient work practices and expense control.

  • Lead the development and implementation of renewal and broking strategies, ensuring client retention and satisfaction.

  • Actively participate in claims management, providing guidance and support to ensure equitable settlements for clients.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience in account management within the construction industry.

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Level 5 Certificate in Broking and membership in appropriate industry groups.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue and expense budgets.
