Job Description

The Marketing Content/Campaign Director for the Esports World Cup (EWC) MENA region will lead strategic initiatives driving fan engagement and monetization. Responsibilities include developing and executing marketing strategies, overseeing multi-channel campaigns (digital, social, traditional media), defining KPIs and monitoring campaign effectiveness, leading a marketing team, building EWC's narrative, managing budgets, collaborating with internal/external teams, and staying updated on industry trends. The role requires building and executing large-scale marketing campaigns, strong storytelling, and deep understanding of gaming/esports culture and mainstream audience engagement. This position is exclusively for Saudi nationals residing in or willing to relocate to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Please note: This position is exclusively open to Saudi nationals, currently residing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia or open to relocation to this city. The role requires hybrid attendance, with regular in-office presence at our Riyadh location as per business needs.

Our Consumer Marketing team is on a mission to find an experienced Marketing Director to lead strategic initiatives that drive fan engagement and monetization for the Esports World Cup (EWC)—the world’s largest gaming and esports event, held in Saudi Arabia.

Within the Consumer Commerce team—and under their guidance—we develop comprehensive commercial plans aimed at maximizing fan lifetime value through ticketing, merchandise, and digital collectibles.

In this role, you will spearhead campaigns to build and execute the Esports World Cup’s marketing strategy. Your leadership will be critical in crafting compelling storytelling, content, and campaign elements that resonate with both esports enthusiasts and mainstream audiences. By driving measurable results, you will help bridge the gap between competitive gaming and global pop culture.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure all campaigns align with the Esports World Cup’s mission and brand vision.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the overarching marketing strategy focused on achieving business goals and KPIs, such as viewership, onsite attendance, brand awareness, fan satisfaction for the
  • Campaign Development: Oversee the creation and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital, social, and traditional media, ensuring a unified campaign voice.
  • Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators, monitor campaign effectiveness, and adapt strategies to maximize impact.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of marketers, content creators, and campaign managers to deliver exceptional results.
  • Mainstream Outreach: Design initiatives to connect esports with mainstream audiences, leveraging storytelling, partnerships, and innovative approaches.
  • Storytelling: Build a compelling, coherent, and culturally relevant narrative for the Esports World Cup that resonates with both esports fans and mainstream audiences.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with internal teams, including marketing, Content, Social Media, Performance Media / Paid Media, Product, Sales, and Operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to partner initiatives. Partner with external stakeholders, client stakeholders, and external agencies to deliver integrated marketing initiatives.
  • Market Insights: Stay ahead of industry and mainstream trends, audience behaviours, and competitive landscape to inform and enhance marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. 
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles, ideally within gaming, esports, or entertainment sectors.
  • Proven expertise in building and executing large-scale marketing campaigns.
  • Strong storytelling and content development skills.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex goals into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Deep understanding of gaming culture, esports ecosystems, and mainstream audience engagement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with creative teams, content producers, media agencies, product management, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with intercultural teams and diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated soft skills including:
