The Esports Event Producer III at Riot Games in Berlin, Germany, leads the production of in-studio esports seasons for various titles (LoL, Valorant, TFT). Responsibilities include planning and executing events at the Riot Games Arena, managing cross-functional teams (internal and external), working with product teams to define KPIs and goals, partnering with production management and broadcast staff, managing project budgets, and providing strategic guidance. The role requires experience in live event and broadcast production, a strong understanding of esports, and excellent leadership and communication skills. The successful candidate will mentor team members, create solutions from business requirements, and proactively address issues. Travel is required for broadcast and live event support.

As Senior Producer, EMEA Esports Events, you'll help run complex event productions across our Esports portfolio, for live and broadcast audiences, both regionally and globally, for the EMEA Content Services team.

You will operate as a Senior Producer, EMEA Esports Events with a primary focus on our studio-produced seasons at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin for a variety of Esports products, ranging from LoL Esports to Valorant Esports, TFT Esports and more. You will oversee the production of several different esports live events, productions, and projects from conception to completion, navigating the complexity at the intersection of live events, live broadcasts and live sports. 

You will be the driving force of the project, guiding the creative and operational vision for our in-studio events, ensuring the execution and troubleshooting, guaranteeing all the processes are of the highest production standard and all collaborating teams' operations are successful. You will be in the forefront of regional in-studio productions and be responsible for supporting ongoing projects and league play. You will report to the EMEA Esports Events lead.

The Senior Producer, EMEA Esports Events has a mix of  leadership, live event, broadcast, project management and production management competencies, as well as strategic and creative expertise, as every production requires cross team collaboration and partnering with different disciplines across the organization. You will handle all elements of the live event/production assigned and rally your team around the best possible outcome. You are committed to creative excellence and  finding creative new ways to improve operational quality, leading  broadcast and tech teams and instituting best practices aimed towards world-class experiences for our teams, players and fans. You create complex project plans, among many disciplines, and work into improving existing ones. You can manage change and can onboard and manage multiple vendors.

As a senior member of the EMEA Content Services team, you will introduce new concepts and ideas that may align with brand initiatives of the project, ensure production meets competitive goals and projects the intended brand image, and oversee the production process from initial development through delivery. Being able to partner with creative, finance, business/legal affairs, and content strategy teams to create production plans that support creative goals while balancing business needs is a crucial element to success in this role.

You are a subject matter expert in terms of content being produced, player experience, and overall fun factor, with excellent communicator/relationship builder skills to keep the team invested in the development plan and can easily work closely with the Partners on Brand, Sponsorship, Marketing and Product goals.

As part of your role you will travel for broadcast and live event production support, training, and trade shows.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans to produce our in-studio seasons for multiple Esports products in accordance with strategies set by Product teams
  • Lead, guide and manage the planning and execution of Esports seasons at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin on a permanent basis
  • Lead cross-functional teams of internal and external partners to collaborate on all live event and broadcast needs, coordination, planning and operating in Riot Games quality
  • Work with Product teams to define Goals, Objectives, Strategies and KPIs
  • Partner with the Production Management and Broadcast staff assigned to the production/Initiative
  • Partner with show producers' on production’s technical and logistical requirements
  • Partner with clients and the in-house creative teams to oversee the acquisition and execution of all production and post-production projects 
  • Manage the budget for assigned projects and make strategic and tactical decisions on its use
  • Provide strategic guidance, solve problems, mediate programming conflicts and proactively deal with issues before they require the attention of senior management. 
  • Mentor and encourage project team members to foster a positive work environment and ensures project team’s health
  • Interpret business requirements and client briefs quickly and translate them into elegant, creative solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of live event and live broadcast production in a leading role
  • 3+ years in the esports or gaming industry
  • Experience overseeing permanent event and broadcast operations
  • Experience in managing project cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders
  • Able to build, implement and execute workflows and best-in-class frameworks across large groups of stakeholders
  • Experience working with and managing  vendors
  • English conversational fluency

Desired Qualifications:

  • 6+ years in the esports or gaming industry
