Role summary:

We need a period end close expert to join our R2R PIA team to help transform our finance month end close processes, supporting the overall global vision to deliver a faster better close.

This is a full-time, 12-month secondment, and you would be our strategic solution design expert, representing various towers involved in the period end close.

You would spend time: further designing the detailed to be solution - supported by SMEs, engaging and aligning with impacted stakeholders, preparing and leading the deployment plan, preparing end users for the change, tracking deployment and proactively managing risks and issues. All with support from other members of the team e.g. Tech, Project Manager, Change Manager, Solution Design Lead.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop further the current design to help drive an earlier period end close.
  • Work with key stakeholders to understand and overcome any challenges preventing them from shifting their close earlier.
  • Drive the change initiatives with relevant stakeholders across various finance teams/towers, technology, automation teams, and others.
  • Manage the end-to-end deployment with support from the project team.
  • Prepare and review related process documentation and partner in leading change management activities: training, communications, engagement.
  • Maintain a solution-oriented mindset, gather feedback, handle escalations effectively, and manage remediation action plans as necessary.
  • Provide regular updates re design and project status to relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for PIA.

Due to the nature of the role and what is needed, we are looking for someone with this experience and skills:

  • An excellent understanding of aspects of the financial month-end review process, including reporting requirements, variance analysis, planning & forecasting, and reporting of financial results for an entity or a cluster of smaller entities. This includes commentary on P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow for accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience of having worked in a Control/SOX environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with senior stakeholders, influence and be able to challenge them diplomatically at various levels, question the status quo, and ensure the delivery of defined business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze complex data sets to drive meaningful insights.
  • Ability to think strategically at a taxonomy/operating model level as well as at a detailed process-specific level. Capable of staying ‘close to the ground’ to understand the ‘real’ end-user experience and perspective.
  • Understanding of Haleon finance processes
  • Understanding of SAP ECC/ERP/CERPS (Master Data Elements & Chart of Accounts) and BISON management reporting structures
