We are looking for a Principal Architect - Cloud Data to join our growing team in North America—based in either Santa Clara, CA, Tacoma, WA, or Burnaby, BC. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading our data analytics technology and innovation strategy, focusing on cutting-edge areas like generative AI and machine learning to drive significant business benefits.

What you’ll do:

  • Evaluate long-term technological investments, prioritizing them based on feasibility and their alignment with business needs
  • Lead and execute large-scale machine learning projects that deliver measurable benefits to the business
  • Provide technical leadership for complex, cross-functional data analytics projects
  • Champion the design and implementation of high-performance data pipelines and extract, transform, load (ETL) processes
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to improve data quality, build robust data warehouses, and develop powerful predictive models
  • Mentor fellow engineers, sharing your expertise on designing and operating reliable distributed systems at scale

What you’ll bring:

  • 20+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proven experience in analytics, AI/ML including generative AI, and real time data processing 
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines 
  • Proficiency in ETL orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Dagster) with deep expertise in SQL, PySpark, or Scala
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud suite (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and application performance characteristics
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and developing data architecture and engineering solutions for massive data volumes
  • Proven ability to formulate solutions based on abstract information and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

What success looks like:

  • Play a key role in developing and/or modifying the data analytics strategy and roadmaps
  • Leverage your understanding of the current ETL processes and data pipelines
  • Drive complex, cross-functional data analytics projects

After about a year, you will…

  • Successfully build new capabilities that drive business outcomes
  • Make significant progress on achieving a world-class service operation
  • Identify analytics applications across several domains to develop integrated solutions

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share our compensation philosophy. At Infoblox, we believe in paying for performance. You can expect our employment offers to take many factors into consideration, including but not limited to location of the role, internal equity, applicable past experience, individual skill set, education and professional certifications. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned is the base salary range for the role. The typical base salary range for this position based in California is $218,700 -$336,820 plus corporate bonus. The typical base salary range for this position based in Washington is $187,500 -$288,750 plus corporate bonus.
