As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage schedules, identify risks, and communicate effectively across the company. You'll coordinate teams across offices and time zones. This role involves leading and mentoring a team of program managers to improve operational efficiency, enhance quality, and optimize processes. You will leverage data analytics, lead innovation, and build a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. You'll communicate program strategies and results to executive leadership and key stakeholders, advocating for quality and efficiency within the Geo team. The Geo team builds accurate, comprehensive maps for users worldwide, enabling developers to use Google Maps platforms in their apps and websites.
Must have:
  • 10+ years program/project management experience
  • 7+ years leadership experience
  • Cross-functional project management
  • Lead and mentor program managers
  • Data analysis for improvement opportunities
  • Communicate with executive leadership
Good to have:
  • Experience with AI/ML, automation
  • Quality management (Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Innovation and industry best practices

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 7 years of experience in a leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in AI/ML, automation, and advanced technologies to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Experience in quality management principles, methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean), and tools.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of program managers to deliver high-impact programs that improve operational efficiency, enhance quality, and optimize processes across the team.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement, track progress, and measure the impact of quality and efficiency programs on key metrics.
  • Lead innovation and the adoption of industry best practices in program management and process excellence within the team.
  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of program managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and growth.
  • Communicate program strategies, progress, and results to executive leadership and key stakeholders, advocating for the quality and efficiency function within the team.
