The Program Process & Quality Management Lead will establish, execute, and maintain the Global Project Controls Quality Assurance and Work Process programs. Responsibilities include developing and managing group standards, implementing auditing processes, ensuring alignment with CO+I EPC document control, and standardizing process documents. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders, establishment of a comprehensive QA program, support of Executive Oversight Teams through audit checks, and ensuring consistent quality across the portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in quality assurance, work process management (preferably in construction), and exceptional attention to detail and technical writing skills. The role involves managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and using Microsoft SharePoint.

Overview

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO+I, the Global Project Controls (GPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.    

 

We are seeking an experienced Program Process & Quality Management Lead to join the Global Project Controls team within CO+I Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC). In this role, you will establish, execute, and maintain the Global Project Controls Quality Assurance and Work Process programs, leveraging industry best practices. Responsibilities include developing, managing, and maintaining group standards for processes and policies, implementing auditing processes specific to Global Project Controls, and ensuring alignment with CO+I EPC document control standards and systems.

 

You will ensure the standardization of process documents, collaborate with Process & Governance contacts across Global Project Controls, and establish a comprehensive Quality Assurance program, including regular internal audits to maintain compliance. These efforts will support Executive Oversight Teams by enabling audit checks on field projects and ensuring consistent quality across the portfolio.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in quality assurance and work process management, preferably in the construction industry, with exceptional attention to detail, technical writing skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. They should also be highly collaborative, self-motivated, and experienced in using and managing Microsoft SharePoint sites.

 

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ, Washington DC. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid, up to 100% from home.

Qualifications

Required Qualitifcations:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in Project Controls and/or Construction Management.

Additional Requirements:

 

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 10+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics)
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years process management, process execution, process optimization, or related experience (e.g., data analytics)
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Lean, Business Process Management Professional, Change Management (e.g., Prosci), Six Sigma, and/or Agile certifications.
  • Hands-on experience or involvement in developing PowerApps and PowerBI solutions.
  • Analytical mindset with a critical thinking approach, curiosity, and the ability to dive deep into underlying data elements.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships and gain support from diverse stakeholders, including EPC commercial partners.
  • Experience driving innovation, improving processes, applying lean principles, and fostering a constructive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional technical writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance Programs, Work Process Development, and Technical Writing best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to evolving processes and business needs.

Process Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain processes and policies to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Optimize Global Project Controls business processes and policies by establishing metrics to monitor adherence and performance, and lead process-level change management initiatives.
  • Document workflows, controls, systems, and requirements while managing governance for specific processes or components.
  • Oversee group auditing activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate with the Global Project Controls Document Control & SharePoint Lead to ensure proper documentation and ongoing maintenance of processes.
  • Support the EPC Executive Oversight Teams (EOT) by assisting with process audits for field construction projects.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance on industry best practices for process development within Project Controls and Construction Management, collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Lead program-level change management efforts by addressing business readiness, stakeholder impacts, and alignment with tools, systems, and policies.
  • Standardize quality metrics, KPIs, and SLAs, and implement a regular auditing program to ensure compliance with business standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to align objectives and deliver effective process solutions.
  • Plan, manage, and prioritize multiple time-sensitive projects to meet deadlines effectively.
