Job Description

As a Category Lead for Travel Insurance at PhonePe, you will be responsible for driving the growth and success of PhonePe's Travel Insurance business. This role offers the opportunity to work on key initiatives with stakeholders in the Insurance industry and manage all aspects of the business, including P&L ownership, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and marketing. You will collaborate with internal teams (product, business finance, customer service, etc.) to monitor and manage the category daily, track sales funnels and revenues, identify and address any gaps, and develop innovative financial solutions with Travel insurers to be implemented on the PhonePe platform. You will also be responsible for benchmarking customer experience and processes against competitors and internal categories to improve customer experience and drive process design. Utilizing data, you will identify opportunities to grow the business through interventions on product and technology. This role requires strong business development, product development, digital marketing, and analytical skills. You must be comfortable managing and collaborating with a highly skilled team, working in a fast-paced environment, and thriving in a competitive and result-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have an MBA with 2-4 years of experience in a dynamic Travel insurance environment.

Must have:

MBA with 2-4 years of experience
Experience in business development and/or product development in a dynamic Travel insurance environment
Exposure to digital marketing
Strong analytical acumen and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of insurance business

What to expect from this role:

Opportunity to work on Travel Insurance related initiatives with key stakeholders of the Insurance industry in the country.
End to end responsibility of the business including but not limited to P&L ownership, operational excellence, regulatory compliance and marketing.
Collaboration with internal teams- product, business finance, customer service, etc to monitor and manage the category daily
Track sales funnels, converted sales and revenues and plug the holes if any
Discuss innovative financial solutions with Travel insurers and bring them to life on PhonePe platform.
Benchmark customer experience and processes with other internal categories as well as competition – hence acting as a catalyst for improving process design for better customer experience.
Work with data to help grow the business through interventions on product and technology.
Responsible for management of business reporting and any ad hoc reporting from time to time. Proficient knowledge of MS Excel is a must
Customer first attitude with a strong execution bias
Experience of working with a highly skilled team across all functions

Ideal candidate for this role should:

Preferably be an MBA with 2-4 years of experience
Have work experience in business development and / or product development in a dynamic Travel insurance environment.
Exposure to digital marketing will be an added advantage.
Be agile and highly collaborative, communicate impressively
Strong analytical acumen and problem solving
Demonstrate deep understanding of insurance business
Be highly data-driven and adept at balancing needs with business goals
Be skilled in building and managing business alliances
