Job Description

Trackman seeks a student assistant to contribute to its R&D Hardware team. Responsibilities include assisting mechanical engineers with daily tasks (SolidWorks design, technical documentation, managing assemblies), prototyping (using 3D printers, CNC router, etc.), supporting in-house production by maintaining and improving jigs and fixtures, contributing to the BOM system, and participating in various R&D projects. The ideal candidate is a master's or final-year bachelor's student in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred) and hands-on prototyping experience. The position is on-site at Trackman's HQ in Hørsholm, Denmark, typically 1-3 days/week (2 preferred).

Job description

Are you a master’s in engineering student (or final year bachelor’s) and are you passionate about product development? 

Are you structured and a strong relationship builder? Are you curious, eager to learn, and want to have an impact on your job and surroundings? Then you might be our new student assistant in the R&D Hardware team at Trackman. 
 

About the role 

As our Student Assistant, you will play an instrumental role in the product development at Trackman and also learn many different aspects of mechanical and electronics engineering depending on your skills and interests. 
 
Your primary responsibilities will be: 

  • Assisting mechanical engineers with their day-to-day work, by designing parts in SolidWorks, creating technical documentation and managing small assemblies. 

  • Working on and building prototypes using our own workshop. At your disposal there will be equipment such as: FFF 3D printers , CNC router, lathe, milling machine, power tools and other manual tools. You will be mostly working with wood, aluminium, plastics and occasionally stainless steel. 

  • Support the in-house production by maintaining and improving production jigs and fixtures. 

  • Provide input to BOM system with 2D technical drawings, 3D CAD models, and information related to manufacturing. 

  • Participate and support various R&D Hardware projects depending on current activities and your interests. 

Job requirements

What we are looking for 

You are a master’s in engineering student (or final year bachelor’s), ideally Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Design and Innovation etc. 

  • You are fluent in English in writing and speaking. 

  • You have experience working with CAD programs such as SolidWorks, Fusion or similar (at least at an amateur/hobbyist level). 

  • You have hands-on experience working with prototypes (e.g. woodworking, 3D printing, machining) (at least at an amateur/hobbyist level). Preferably you are/were a member of a student engineering club where you worked on a project with a team for a prolonged time. 

  • You’re available to work on site at Trackman’s new HQ in the DTU Science Park (Hørsholm). Typically, between 1 and 3 days per week. (Two days per week are preferred so you can have a good collaboration with the team.) 

  • You’re reliable and have a systematic and proactive approach to your tasks.  

  • You have a can-do attitude, willingness to learn, and apply your new knowledge fast. 

  • You are a team-player, proactive and take ownership of your tasks. 

  • You’re curious and not afraid of bringing new ideas to the table. 

  • You can communicate and cooperate well with others.

You will have the flexibility to organize your work hours/days, and we expect you can help us approx.15-20 hours per week.
