We are seeking expression of interest from Realtime Lighting Artists! The Ideal candidate for this position must be passionate about Games and Cinematics and have ambition to push the boundaries of photorealism. Using Unreal Engine you would be responsible for creating lighting and render setups to facilitate producing top-notch visuals. Knowledge sharing is also important as helping each other is a highly valued characteristic of Goodbye Kansas culture.

Lighting shots as briefed by the Visual Effects/CG Supervisor/Director
Work closely with Supervisors to determine the best approach to solving CG challenges and developing the final look
Prepare master lighting setups to be shared amongst the team
To optimize scenes efficiently for rendering
Developing shots in collaboration with the Comp Artist when prerendering
When required, perform more generalist tasks such as modeling, texturing and lookdev
Staying on schedule and meeting set deadlines while maintaining the highest levels of quality
Participate in regular department meetings and provide information on workload and possible issues to the HO Department
Industry experience lighting photorealistic games and cinematics using Unreal
A strong knowledge of lighting techniques and physically based rendering
A great eye for detail
Basic knowledge of other disciplines within VFX including Modeling, Texturing, Lookdev and Camera Tracking
Be ready working with our GBK workflow/pipeline but also have the creativity and problem solving skills to work around issues
Self-motivated and highly organized
Strong communication skills (internal teams and external clients)
Ability to work under pressure, to multitask and to solve problems
Experience with profiling and troubleshooting performance issues
Build simple tools for lighters
Experience with digital paint software Substance
Knowledge of Python
Experience using Ftrack or similar project management tool
Understanding of colour-space
Ability to pre comp renders in Nuke to present in lighting dailies
Understanding of version control software preferably Perforce
You should be self-sufficient
Goal-oriented with an ability to see the full picture, even when the working day is filled with quick decisions
Curious and hungry to learn new features, techniques and solutions.
