Job Description

The Sales Commissions Analyst supports GitLab's global commissions programs, requiring strong organization, analytical skills, and attention to detail. This role involves assisting with worldwide commission calculations, reporting, and end-user support. Key responsibilities include configuring and maintaining sales commission plans in Xactly Incent, ensuring accurate crediting for transactions, and tracking compensation issues. The analyst will also support SOX compliance, focus on process improvement, and prepare ad hoc analyses. The team aims to be a trusted business partner, incentivizing the field to close business and processing commissions accurately and timely.
Must have:
  • Assist with worldwide commission calculations, reporting, and first-tier end user support
  • Configure and maintain sales commission plans in Xactly Incent
  • Ensure accurate commission calculation and participant crediting
  • Track and research compensation issues
  • Competency with compensation analytics tools to support Sales and Sales Operations
  • Track and report on the status of plan acceptance to ensure compliance and timeliness
  • Support SOX compliance, documentation, and reporting
  • Maintain a focus on process improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and participate on projects as needed
  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, economics or other quantitative fields
  • 3+ years experience in SaaS, supporting sales incentive programs, processes and procedures
  • Proficiency in Xactly Incent
  • Experience with Salesforce and G Suite
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data
  • Process-oriented individual with excellent problem solving and project management skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and schedule time off around monthly close schedules and fiscal year commission plan rollouts

An overview of this role

The Sales Commissions Analyst provides support to GitLab's commissions programs globally. This requires someone to be extremely well organized, analytical and detailed-oriented. The Commission Analyst reports to our Senior Manager, Sales Commissions.

What you’ll do

  • Assist with worldwide commission calculations, reporting, and first-tier end user support
  • Configure and maintain sales commission plans in Xactly Incent and ensuring accurate commission calculation
  • Ensure commission plan participants are accurately credited for their transactions
  • Track and research compensation issues
  • Competency with compensation analytics tools required to support Sales and Sales Operations
  • Track and report on the status of plan acceptance to ensure compliance and timeliness
  • Support SOX compliance, documentation, and reporting
  • Maintain a focus on process improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency and implementing time/resource saving solutions
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis & participate on projects as needed

What you’ll bring

  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, economics or other quantitative fields preferred
  • 3+ years experience in SaaS, supporting sales incentive programs, processes and procedures
  • Proficiency in Xactly Incent
  • Experience with Salesforce and G Suite
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data
  • A process-oriented individual with excellent problem solving and project management skills who has the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and willing to schedule time off around our monthly close schedules and fiscal year commission plan rollouts
  • B2B experience preferred
  • Interest in GitLab, and open source software
