Job Description

The Senior Manager, API & Excipient role will report to the Director, API & Excipient & OTC Procurement – Global Sourcing. Key responsibilities include developing a strategy for Cx Excipients and Raw Materials with a budget of approximately £50 million across different locations and sites to achieve financial goals such as 5.5% year-over-year gross delivery. Additionally, the role involves risk management by implementing a derisking program, ensuring the security of supply, and driving category strategies. The role requires regular communication with key stakeholders and hands-on management of key Excipients and Raw Materials to achieve expected performance parameters such as cost reduction and inventory management.
Must have:
  • Experience in supporting innovation projects from ideation to market.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally and understanding strategic plans.
  • Procurement or strategic sourcing experience with strong negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with the Consumer Health Industry.
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to produce robust contracts in line with business requirements.
  • English proficiency (written and oral).
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, business management, supply chain or a scientific discipline.
  • Experience in Consumer Healthcare, specifically OTC, Oral Health.
  • CIPS or any relevant certification.
  • API & Excipient sourcing

About the role

This Senior Manager, API & Excipient role will report to the Director, API & Excipient & OTC Procurement – Global Sourcing and will partner with Senior Stakeholders in the QSC, Finance and Product Category team to drive growth.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop Cx Excipients and Raw Materials  strategy of ~£50M spend spread across geographies and mix of internal sites and CMOs to deliver on

Financial

  • Above and beyond 5.5% YoY gross delivery over and above market inflation / deflation through innovative category strategies

  • Deliver best in class working capital benefits by driving payment terms of >90 days and inventory strategies of Consignment stock & VHI across the vendors

Risk Management

  • Implement derisking program by dual sourcing as well as regional derisking in response to evolving Geopolitical situation

  • Lead team and partner with supplier and sites to ensure security of supply of Excipients and Raw Materials s across the supply network

Procurement fundamentals

  • Driving category strategies and delivering balanced scorecard besides financials on Quality improvement, sustainability, environmental/regulatory compliance aligned with QSC Objectives.

  • Regular communication and partnership with key stakeholders for constant update of Procurement strategy as well as changing business requirement

  • Hands on management of portfolio of key Excipients and Raw Materials creating and delivering on the strategies  to deliver on all expected performance parameters YOY cost reduction, inventory, derisking etc

Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • Experience in supporting innovation projects from ideation formation to market and consumer use

  • Collaborating and executing cross-function/region/BU to understand, input and accelerate strategic plans

  • Relevant experience in procurement or strategic sourcing or strategic relationship management with strong negotiation experience

  • Familiar with Consumer Health Industry

  • Leadership/communication skills

  • Produce robust contracts in line with business, legal and commercial requirements

  • English proficiency (written and oral), other language will be a plus

Preferred

  • ·Bachelor’s degree in procurement, business management, supply chain or scientific discipline

  • ·Experience in Consumer Healthcare and more specifically OTC, Oral Health.

  • ·CIPS or any relevant certification.

  • ·API & Excipient sourcing
