ZeptoLab seeks a Senior Golang Developer to build scalable backend systems for upcoming games. Collaborating closely with the game development team, the successful candidate will design and develop backend components, implement game requirements, and ensure seamless client-server integration for hundreds of thousands of daily players. Responsibilities include ensuring a smooth, uninterrupted player experience, troubleshooting, and minimizing downtime in live environments. The role requires strong Go development experience (3+ years), extensive server-side development (5+ years), and expertise in database design and SQL/NoSQL systems. This position involves working on groundbreaking projects and requires excellent self-organization, autonomy, and clear communication.

Are you a seasoned Backend Developer ready to take on exciting challenges in game development? ZeptoLab is looking for someone like you!

As a Senior Golang Developer, you'll play a key role in building scalable backend systems for our upcoming games while collaborating closely on game design and direction. Your mission will be to ensure our hundreds of thousands of daily players enjoy a seamless, uninterrupted experience.

If you have experience developing live systems, thrive in environments with large user volumes, and are passionate about working on groundbreaking projects — this could be your perfect opportunity!

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop backend components for an exciting new, unannounced game.
  • Work alongside the game development team to understand and implement game requirements based on feature designs.
  • Collaborate with client developers to ensure seamless integration between the game client and server.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in Go development.
  • 5+ years of server-side development experience.
  • Experience with Java.
  • Knowledge of Linux shell and scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with Just-in-Time development practices.
  • Strong skills in database design, SQL/NoSQL systems.
  • Open, collaborative mindset and clear thinking under pressure.
  • Passion for troubleshooting and minimizing downtime in live environments.
  • Excellent self-organization, autonomy, and initiative.
  • Fluent English communication skills.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Backend-as-a-Service platforms (e.g., Nakama, PlayFab).
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker.
  • A passion for games and experience with Unity.
  • Understanding of network protocols, non-blocking I/O, and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Cassandra or Redis.
  • Knowledge of concurrent, event-driven systems.
