As a Senior Java Software Engineer at Patterned Learning AI, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop best practices, participate in code reviews, and conduct technical analysis to resolve production issues. Responsibilities include working with Java, Spring, Hibernate, Struts, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, and Oracle. The role requires 5+ years of Java development experience and expertise in web application development. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field is required. This is a fully remote position open to candidates authorized to work in the US.
Must have:
  • 5+ years Java development experience
  • Spring, Hibernate, Struts knowledge
  • Web app development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Database experience (MySQL, Oracle)
  • APACHE/FLINK
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
  • Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Agile/Scrum experience
  • DevOps practices (Git, Jenkins, Docker)

This is a remote position.

Senior Java Software Engineer


Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States full-time. We are not able to sponsor applicants for work visas at this time.

Objectives of this role


Design, develop and maintain high-quality Java applications at the company.

Collaborate with teams in other departments to identify and prioritise requirements.

Develop best practices for the company and participate in code reviews with the team and other stakeholders.

Conduct technical analysis to arrive at solutions and create technological artefacts in response to production issues.

Your tasks


A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.

5+ years of demonstrable experience in Java development.

Strong knowledge of Java languages and web development frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, and Struts.

Expertise in developing web applications using front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).

Working knowledge of database technologies (MySQL and Oracle).

Required skills and qualifications


Demonstrable expertise in various technical areas, including programming, network administration, and software installation and configuration.

5+ years of experience in software development, database management, or a role with similar responsibilities.

MUST HAVE APAHCE/FLINK

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with organisational capabilities.

Experience with IT project management methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.

Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Preferred skills and qualifications


Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).

Knowledge of cloud computing technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Familiarity with agile software development methodologies (Agile or Scrum).

Experience with DevOps practices and tools (Git, Jenkins, and Docker).

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with good teamwork capabilities.
