Job Description

The Senior Quality Engineer will work with FX Engineering teams to test and improve FX trading software applications. They will build test automation frameworks, write code/scripts, and monitor product engineering for quality. Responsibilities include transitioning regression scenarios, writing tests, understanding business requirements, maintaining scripts, building test scenarios, reviewing tests, implementing and reporting automated test results, and researching new QA tools and methodologies. The role requires understanding of the Electronic Trading ecosystem, messaging, and network protocols, experience with databases, and proficiency in Java/Python/C++.
Must have:
  • Experience as Senior Development Engineer for Test.
  • Understanding of Electronic Trading ecosystem (FX knowledge preferred).
  • Knowledge of databases and query languages.
Good to have:
  • Experience with FIX protocol testing.
  • Experience working on Linux / UNIX operating systems.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Job Details

Role Responsibilities

  • Work with the FX Engineering teams to test and improve critical FX trading software applications.

  • Build test automation frameworks and train the automation models with the functional scenarios by partnering with incumbent consultants.

  • Transition all exiting regression scenarios to the new test automation framework and write moderately complex code/scripts to test the FX trading systems.

  • Responsible for monitoring product engineering with a perspective towards improving product quality.

  • Build test stubs and harnesses as necessary to perform system functional testing and system contract testing.

  • Work with the team in requirements grooming to understand the business requirements and test requirements;

  • Maintain and update automated test scripts based on agreed acceptance criteria;

  • Help the team build functional and non-functional test scenarios based on user story covering the requirements, multi functional and other aspects of the systems such as load, performance and fault tolerance in TDD – Test Driven Development and BDD – Behavior driven development (Given, When, Then format);

  • Review tests built by Product, Operations and Engineering team members for coverage and negative scenarios;

  • Implement and report results of automated tests with the team;

  • Monitor and solve issues in automated test scripts;

  • Report issues and anomalies in the system in the issue tracking system;

  • Research new QA tools & methodologies and suggest improvements to the team particularly using AI and ML models.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Senior Development Engineer for Test (SDET) /Test Automation Engineer, designing, implementing and recording test results through automation in large-scale data intensive platforms

  • Understanding of Electronic Trading ecosystem (FX knowledge preferred)

  • Understanding of messaging and network protocols

  • Understanding of Distributed/Event driven systems

  • Understanding of testing using FIX protocol

  • Working on Linux / UNIX operating systems

  • Extensive knowledge of databases and query languages for RDBMS/NoSQL/Time Series DBs

  • Writing test automation scripts using Java/Python/C++

  • Experience of working in software delivery methodologies such as Agile/Scrum

  • Support and evolve DevOps CI/CD platforms for Continuous Testing

  • English Level C1 - High proficiency in English with strong communication skills in verbal and written English
