Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) in Warsaw, Poland, you'll design, develop, and test code for critical Google products. Responsibilities include participating in design reviews, reviewing peer code, collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, and OSS community) to shape GKE's evolution, and improving performance, scalability, and resource obtainability for workloads. You'll work on large-scale distributed systems, leveraging your expertise in languages like Golang, Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript and data structures/algorithms. The role requires at least 5 years of software development experience and 2 years in a technical leadership role.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
2+ years technical leadership
Proficiency in Golang, Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript
Experience with data structures/algorithms
Code review and testing expertise

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Experience with accessible technologies
Experience with large-scale distributed systems

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Golang, Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript) and with data structures/algorithms.
2 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience leading, designing, and implementing large-scale distributed systems.

Write and test product or system development code.

Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, other engineering groups, and On-Site Support (OSS) community) to make strategic decisions impacting kubernetes evolution towards the best platform for infrastructure orchestration.
Design and implement solutions that improve performance, scalability, and resource obtainability for the workloads.
