Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience in Distributed Computing, including distributed systems concepts, architectures, and technologies.
- 3 years of experience in Java or C++, and with object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Ability to integrate security and privacy throughout the product development lifecycle, from design to deployment, with experience with threat modeling, risk assessment, and implementing security controls in a cloud environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Deliver the infrastructure security strategy for Google Cloud Storage (GCS), ensuring the protection and security of customer data, core content, and metadata in line with industry standards.
- Manage failure modes, data consistency, and solve problems in a distributed storage system handling objects and QPS.
- Design and implement solutions that meet business requirements and ensure seamless operation and data integrity.
- Build knowledge of technical architecture, communicate requirements to other platform teams, and provide clarity on technical requirements and incremental deliverables.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and demonstrate clear communication, collaboration, and consensus-building skills.
