Job Description

Google is seeking a Sensor Algorithm Engineer to manage applied research and data analysis for health and motion features in Wearable and Phone products. Responsibilities include developing sensor fusion and machine learning algorithms leveraging Google hardware and ML/AI innovations. The role requires implementing and deploying production-level software across the Pixel and Android software stack, optimizing algorithms for performance, power constraints, and sensor inputs. The engineer will also develop plans for collecting high-quality, labeled sensor data. This position requires significant experience in software development, machine learning, and algorithm design, with a strong preference for experience in embedded systems and time-series data.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning or natural language processing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience working on one project in a resource-constrained environment (e.g., a phone, embedded device, or something similar).
  • Experience productizing machine learning solutions in embedded environments.
  • Experience developing algorithms for time-series data (e.g., inertial sensors, audio, and radar).
  • Expertise with machine learning methods including foundation models and Large Language Model (LLMs).
  • Expertise in signal processing (e.g., filtering, detection).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
