Job Description

As a Software Engineer Android, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. You will design and implement novel algorithms to enable faster builds, improving developer velocity through innovative build optimizations/ modularizations for all first-party app teams. You will also contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback. You will also triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. You will develop cutting edge infrastructure that will improve performance of Build Systems, accelerate inner loop times, reduce the time between incremental builds. You will infiltrate deep into the Android stack and use a wide variety of internal and external tools to solve problems.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with Android application development
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python)
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning
  • Experience building data infrastructure and solutions
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to interact with local stakeholders in this customer-facing role
Good to have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Golang)
  • Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience building data infrastructure and solutions (e.g., designing architecture, building data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring, build advanced visualizations).
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to interact with local stakeholders in this customer-facing role.

  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Golang), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
