In-depth, hands-on involvement directly with customers Implementation

Work directly with the customer project team implementing the system and assist them in implementing their users’ requirements.

The technical consultant will then typically follow up with the users to test the implementation, achieve signoff, and continue to move the system toward release.

Assist developers in understanding the API required to extend the system, add data to the system, and build interfaces between our and external systems. 

Train users and customer developers on the basic use of the system, particularly with the technical setup.

System installation, including Java JRE download and installation, relational database installation, data model installation and upgrade scripts, setup, and configuration of the event-driven framework, configuration of real-time market data feed, etc. 

  • Work hands-on with the system, configuring it and testing that it meets the customer’s technical requirements!

  • Work with the business analysts, core development, or customer development to code prototypes of new version to ensure they will meet business requirements!

  • Excellent social skills. The person in this role will spend significant amounts of time working closely with customers as well as training them, and grit will be key to success

  • eager and ability to travel as required

  • Relevant technical experience of 3 years and above, preferably in the capital markets domain

  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Excellent user documentation & presentation skills

  • Experience working in systems or technical analysis, preferably in the capital markets industry with software including Java, Spring boot, containerization skills, Spring, Swing, JDBC, RMI, J2EE, Linux, Oracle, Postgres, XML, Python, CI/CD tools

  • Strong GUI and server-side development experience

  • Excellent object-oriented analysis, design & development as well as troubleshooting skills 

  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL including working experience with Postgres and/or Oracle 

  • Preference for domain experience in developing or implementing software in support of any or all of the following asset classes: credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, fixed income, or FX

  • Experience designing/building front-to-back capital markets trading systems will be especially valuable

  • Excellent technical documentation & presentation skills

  • Our work arrangement is hybrid. You will be coming into the office just 2 days per week.

    This is a permanent, full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia. To be eligible to apply, you must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
