Job Description

As a Software Engineer III, Mobile (iOS) at Waze, you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of Waze's iOS application. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, ensuring best practices, contributing to documentation, debugging and resolving issues, participating in design reviews, and working with various technologies. You will work on projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects. The role requires strong iOS development skills, experience with data structures and algorithms, and a collaborative approach to software development. You'll manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while working within a passionate and innovative team.

Must have:

2+ years iOS app development experience
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Code writing, review, debugging
Contribute to documentation

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
2 years of experience with iOS application development.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
