Job Description

Google's Pixel Software team seeks a Software Engineer to innovate and build features for Pixel battery experience. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, UX Designers/Researchers) to define product features and design new user experiences. Responsibilities include setting technical direction, planning deliverables, making technical contributions (prototyping, design, implementation, testing), and managing project priorities. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of Java/Kotlin software development experience, 1+ year of Android development experience, and strong problem-solving skills. Experience with Android framework, data structures, and algorithms is preferred. The role involves working with cross-functional teams across time zones, requiring excellent communication skills.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
2+ years Java/Kotlin software development
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
1+ year Android application development
Innovate and build Pixel battery features
Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Good to have:

3+ years Java/Kotlin experience
2+ years Android development experience
Android framework experience
Cross-timezone collaboration skills
Excellent problem-solving skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in software development with Java or Kotlin.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
1 year of experience with Android application development.

Preferred qualifications:

3 years of experience with software development in Java or Kotlin.
2 years of experience in Android application development
Experience with Android framework.
Ability to work with cross functional teams in different timezones along with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work with open ended problems along with excellent problem-solving skills.

Set the technical direction and plan deliverables and milestones.
Make technical contributions including prototyping, design, implementation, unit and integration testings, etc.
