Job Description

This 12-14 week paid Software Engineering Internship (PhD level) at Google in Taipei, Taiwan offers personal and professional development opportunities, including an executive speaker series and community building. Interns will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs, developing scalable, distributed software systems and collaborating on various projects. Responsibilities include designing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software solutions, contributing to a productive team, developing automation scripts, analyzing information, and applying computer science knowledge to real-world challenges. The internship is open to PhD candidates in their penultimate year or returning to studies after the internship, with a focus on software development or related technical fields.

Must have:

Pursuing PhD in software development or related field
Experience in software development (Python or C++)
Experience with data structures and algorithms
Contribute to a productive team
Develop automation scripts
Analyze information and solve issues

Good to have:

Research experience in AI, Data Mining, etc.
Experience with C/C++, Python, CUDA
Strong data structures, algorithms, and software design skills

Minimum qualifications:

Pursuing a PhD program with a focus on subjects in software development or other technical related fields.
Experience in Software Development and coding in one or more of the following: Python or C++.
Experience with data structures or algorithms gathered from inside or outside of school or work.

Preferred qualifications:

Currently attending a degree program in the TW and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
In their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
Research experience in Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, Data Science, LLM, Rule Base or Systems.
Programming experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, Python, CUDA.
Experience in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design.
