The Technical Account Manager, Play Partnerships, will collaborate with Google Play teams to deliver technical solutions driving partner success. This role involves working with senior technical leaders at partner organizations, understanding their business needs, and translating them into technical requirements and solutions. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance, creating custom solutions, collaborating on bug resolution, engaging partners in growth opportunities, and developing best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in system design, code reading (Java, Kotlin, SQL), technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners. They will be proficient in translating business requirements into technical solutions and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Must have:
- 5+ years system design or code reading experience (Java, Kotlin, SQL)
- 5+ years technical troubleshooting and partner management experience
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and management skills
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
Good to have:
- Master's degree in technical field
- Experience programming in Java, Kotlin, C++, SQL, or REST APIs
- Mobile app/game development experience

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in either system design or reading code (e.g., Java, Kotlin, SQL).
- 5 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a technical management, computer science, or engineering field.
- Experience programming in Java, Kotlin, C++, SQL, or REST APIs.
- Experience developing mobile apps or games.
- Experience with managing collaboration across business and technical stakeholders internally and with external partners, with the ability to navigating ambiguity, problem solving and driving operational processes and disciplines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, and management skills, with experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.

The Global Business Consulting (GBC) team identifies growth opportunities in strategic partners’ products and markets, and uncovers improvement opportunities through technical integration and product adoption. As the Technical Account Manager, you will collaborate with internal Google Play products and engineering teams to prioritize and bring innovative technical solutions to drive partner business success.
In this role, you will help partners build mobile apps and games on Google Play and the Android platform. You will own and cultivate relationships with senior technical leaders at strategic partner organizations, develop an understanding of the partners’ business needs and translate them into well-defined technical requirements and solutions.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance, timelines, milestones and best practices to mobile app and game developers to accelerate and de-risk product adoption.
- Create custom and repeatable solutions through partner requirements gathering and mapping, solution strategy formation, scoping, development, and testing.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to validate high complexity product bugs and drive towards resolution.
- Engage partners in business growth opportunities enabled by new feature rollouts and technical optimizations.
- Develop best practices and assets based on learnings from partners engagements to help support and scale initiatives.
