Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager, Data Discovery and Protection at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, manage risks, and schedules, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. You'll present analyses and recommendations to executives and discuss technical trade-offs with engineers. Responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional projects, managing high-complexity projects, fostering partnerships with leadership and engineering teams, communicating program status, and introducing continuous improvement processes. The role focuses on building the technical foundation for Google's products and impacting important technical decisions across the company.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Good to have:
  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle challenges

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in software development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of technical and process challenges associated with the software development life-cycle.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an ambiguous operations environment, as well as deliver results in a timely manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-functional or cross-pillar projects together with local engineer leaders and Technical Program Manager (TPM) partners.
  • Manage projects of high complexity, high risk, and scope and critical customer landscape.
  • Foster partnerships with leadership, engineering, and product managers to ensure initiatives align with overall engineering and product priorities.
  • Communicate program status to various audiences, including cross-functional and executive leadership.
  • Introduce continuous improvement processes.
