Salt AI seeks a Technical Writer - Documentation Lead to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for its Salt v1.0 platform. Responsibilities include creating tutorials and guides for various skill levels, writing technical reference documentation for the node system, collaborating with engineers, establishing documentation standards, and documenting breaking changes. The ideal candidate possesses 3+ years of experience writing technical documentation for SaaS products, particularly in fast-growing startups. A strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, excellent information architecture skills, proficiency in Markdown, and basic Git knowledge are required.
Must have:

With the launch of Salt 1.0, we're empowering organizations to build custom AI solutions that solve real business challenges, from automated research and analysis to content generation and policy compliance. We need an experienced technical writer to develop comprehensive documentation that will help our users unlock the full potential of these capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for Salt v1.0
- Create clear, engaging tutorials and guides for users of all skill levels
- Write detailed technical reference documentation for our node system
- Work closely with engineering team to understand and document features
- Establish documentation standards and style guides
- Document breaking changes and migration guides from previous versions
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years experience writing technical documentation for SaaS products, ideally in fast-growing startups
- Proven track record of building documentation systems from scratch in a startup environment
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and terminology (LLMs, diffusion models, embeddings)
- Excellent information architecture and organizational skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible content
- Proficiency with Markdown and technical documentation tools
- Basic understanding of version control concepts (Git)
