The New York Times, which documented Texans' love of Texas some years back, is looking for an experienced Texas-based editor to shape our coverage of the state.
Texas is at the forefront of politics, culture, and business, and plays an essential role in the national discourse. While we have grown our coverage there in recent years, we're eager to expand further. We're looking for a senior editor who has deep roots and relationships in Texas and in our newsroom and who can build up our journalistic presence in Texas across desks. You will be part of a broader investment into our coverage of the state.
You are bursting with ideas on how to use the resources of The Times to make an even greater impact in our coverage of Texas. You have experience collaborating across a wide newsroom, and will work across teams to bring forth a holistic Texas report that feels urgent and compelling.
This experienced, empowered editor will be responsible for irresistible coverage of the state and region.
This is a hybrid position, based in a to-be-determined city in Texas and includes regular attendance in the office each week per your departmental guidance.
