Our team is growing, and we are seeking an experienced UAS Specialist to join our team.

Position Summary

The UAS Specialist assists the School of Uncrewed Technology Program Chair in resolving student technical issues experienced with equipment in the program. The UAS Specialist is also part of the curriculum team and is part of the development of course materials, in which they have the experience to act as a SME, during the development of new course materials. They can also be assigned to act addressing current course issues and needed changes as assigned by the Associate Dean of Curriculum. The UAS Specialist is primarily for support of the students and continued development and support of the School of Uncrewed Technologies growth.

Here’s What You’d Be Doing

  • Serves as SME-level member of Content Committee by reviewing drafts completed by content developers
  • Serves as “model talent” for instructional videos, webinars, and pre-recorded lectures, as needed
  • Serves as SME for course development as assigned for SUT courses
  • May be assigned to develop proprietary content, as needed for SUT courses
  • Keeps required records, follows departmental procedures, and meets required deadlines
  • Engages in assigned marketing tasks to support the growth of SDI
  • Assists as needed for Business development
  • Travel as needed for in person training on the PRPIC program
  • Assists in the revision of current PRPIC offerings
  • Assists in current course revision actions as follow up to the findings of annual course reviews
  • Ensures equipment used for PRPIC training and is fully functional prior to use

Requirements

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Uncrewed Technology
  • At least 5 years of UAS experience in either services or aircraft development including time in training and education of flight operations personnel
  • Online teaching experience preferred
  • Advanced content knowledge of Uncrewed Technology
  • Some travel required, up to 25% (This is a mainly remote position, but will require travel for events and to our Glendale facility for content creation.)
  • Must possess advanced technological skills in reference to UAS and use of computers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicating with internal and external customers
  • Strong organizational, follow-through, and communication skills – must be dependable, proactive, and prompt
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (course development and instructional delivery)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service to students, faculty members, fellow department members, and school administration
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Multi-task oriented with the ability to stay focused on student success while addressing daily issues.
  • High degree of professionalism when dealing with students and faculty.
