Summary

The Video Game Capture Runner is a contract position (6 months) responsible for creating high-quality gameplay footage for trailers and other assets. Responsibilities include playing assigned games to capture footage using specified equipment and software, collaborating with a team to execute choreographed gaming scenarios, following capture guidelines, working with video editors, troubleshooting technical issues, and staying updated on gaming trends. The role requires proficiency in various game genres across PC and console platforms, knowledge of video capture equipment/software (Parsec, BMD Media Express, etc.), strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The position is remote, but limited to Canada only.

Video Game Capture Runner

Remote, Canada ONLY / Contract, 6 months

Do you love playing FPS shooter games? As a Video Game Capture Runner, you will be an integral part of our content creation team, responsible for creating high-quality gameplay footage for trailers and other related assets, and assisting in the production of gaming-related videos. You will work closely with our Capture Director / Creative Director and the other Game Capture Artists to ensure that we consistently deliver captivating and visually appealing content to our audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Play assigned video games to capture gameplay footage using specified recording equipment and software.
  • Work with a team of other Runners and Game Capture Artists to create and execute choreographed gaming scenarios that best convey the objectives.
  • Follow predefined capture guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in footage.
  • Collaborate with Video Editors to transfer and organize captured footage for post-production.
  • Assist in setting up and testing equipment for live capture sessions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to gameplay capture and equipment operation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest video game releases, trends, and technologies in gaming capture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming culture.
  • Proficiency in playing a wide range of video game genres across various platforms (PC and Console).
  • Basic knowledge of video capture equipment and software (e.g., Parsec, BMD Media Express, various remote desktop applications, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow specific instructions and guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and deadlines.
  • Prior experience in video game capture and content creation (preferred).
  • Must have a gaming PC and Internet connection.
