Job Description

As a Video Standards and Encoder Optimization Intern, you will collaborate with engineers and researchers to develop and enhance video coding technologies. Responsibilities include researching and developing innovative solutions for video compression and processing, optimizing video encoders for improved performance and video quality. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a Master's or PhD in a relevant field (computer science, electrical engineering, etc.) and possess experience in image/video compression or image processing, along with proficiency in programming languages like C/C++, Python. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential. The internship is located in Palo Alto.

Must have:

Master's/PhD in relevant field
Image/video compression experience
Proficiency in C/C++, Python
Excellent communication skills

Good to have:

Understanding of state-of-the-art video compression algorithms
Experience with HEVC, AV1, VVC, AVS codecs
Software development and debugging experience

What the Role Entails

As a Video Standards and Encoder Optimization Intern, you will work closely with our experienced engineers and researchers to assist in the development and enhancement of video coding technologies.

● Conduct research and develop innovative solutions for video compression and processing.

● Work on optimizing video encoders to improve performance and video quality.

Who We Look For

● A master/PhD program in computer science, electrical engineering, math, statistics, or related fields.

● Related working experience/course work in image/video compression or image processing.

● Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.

● Ability to communicate/collaborate with other researchers/engineers

● Ability to think out of box.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Good understanding of state-of-the-art video compression algorithms.

● Working experience on HEVC, AV1, VVC, AVS or other video codecs.

● Experience with software development and debugging.
