Job Description
This Corporate Accounting Operations (CAO) position is at the Center of Excellence (COE) in Penang, Malaysia. The COE manages the end-to-end accounting work from journal entry (JE) posting to general ledger (GL) accounts reconciliation, including transfer pricing adjustments. The accountant will -
- Prepare and maintain Intel's financial records in SAP and close the financial books every month according to the Financial Close Calendar set by Intel Corporate.
- Analyse GL accounts and prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders e.g., revenue, sales and tax, and regulatory/statutory reports.
- Ensure that Intel’s financial records/accounts are based on valid business transactions and are accurate and complete, in accordance with US GAAP.
- Facilitate various financial and operational audits by internal/external auditors, and government/tax authorities.
- Ensure that documented SOX controls are implemented and are regularly assessed per Intel’s SOX Program.
- Work with business process owners and IT to define, design, and implement ERP upgrades, which includes data cleansing, data migration and end-user testing.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve the efficiency and/or effectiveness of end-to-end accounting/reporting processes.
- Help business partners to implement enhancement/improvement projects, particularly from an accounting or operational standpoint.
Applicants with the following knowledge and experience have added advantage -
- Firsthand experience with accounting reconciliation tools or equivalent software (e.g., Blackline) and (a) able to evaluate software performance, (b) provide guidance and support to other teams, and (c) work with IT to resolve operational issue.
- Knowledge of accounting systems, ERP processes, and approval workflows, and are keen to be part of projects to assess and implement system enhancements for the finance community.
Qualifications
Academic Qualification: University degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
Language Competency: Excellent command of the English Language – verbal and written.
Skillset: Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (particularly, Excel and PowerPoint), and firsthand experience with SAP/Oracle or equivalent.

- Have an analytical and detailed-oriented mind.
- Has a min 6 months of relevant experience in Accounting related
- Can work independently and comfortable to (a) work with ambiguity and (b) collaborate with colleagues at various stages of their career.
- Held leadership positions in other organisations, including university.
- IT Savvy – Motivated to use IT as a tool to improve/enhance capability and efficiency, and keen to be a change agent to bridge the gap between status quo and future desired state(s).

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
