Tesla's Finance team in Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg seeks an Analyst/Associate for FP&A Business Operations. This role involves analyzing key performance indicators (revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, CapEx), developing financial models, providing strategic insights, guiding planning and resource management, and improving processes. Responsibilities include monthly closing, variance analysis, identifying cost improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on manufacturing investments, automation, and supply chain optimization. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in a relevant field (consulting, finance, etc.), strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. Experience with financial modeling and SQL is a plus. Fluent English is required; US and Germany work experience is preferred.

What to Expect

Tesla’s Finance team combines traditional financial planning and analysis with broader business decision making and strategy, directly supporting leadership. Finance is embedded in daily operations, supporting both near-term execution and long-term planning. Team members are expected to analyse data and provide recommendations and to lead cross-functional decision-making and implementation of the recommendations.

Manufacturing Finance works with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to:

  • Manage all manufacturing investments globally and develop associated forecasts
  • Includes evaluation of major CapEx decisions, expansion plans, and business cases on automation, manufacturing scope, insource vs. outsource choices, and location
  • Lead manufacturing cost improvement for all products, including feedback on estimated manufacturing costs for future programs, identification of focus areas for cost, and execution of identified initiatives
What You’ll Do
  • Analysing key performance indicators, especially revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses and capital expenditures (includes developing financial models and decision-making tools)
  • Providing strategic insights and conclusions based on this analysis      
  • Guiding planning and resource management (e.g., headcount, investment approvals, etc.) for specific verticals within Tesla, including development of financial forecasts
  • Consolidate monthly closing actual result and prepare variance analysis
  • Improving and updating processes to align to the constantly changing nature of the business  
  • Identifying initiatives for improvement of Tesla’s financial outlook, including developing, tracking, and executing business initiatives with Tesla’s leadership
What You’ll Bring
  • MBA or Bachelor's in Business, Economics, or related field; technical degrees (Finance, Accounting, Engineering) a plus
  • 3-6 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, investment management, equity research, or finance/strategy
  • Ability to turn imperfect data into actionable insights
  • Proven track record of driving tangible impact, especially in ambiguous environments
  • Self-driven with minimal day-to-day oversight
  • Strong analytical skills (financial modelling, SQL a plus) and ability to drive decision-making and implementation
  • Fluent in English; work experience in both the US and Germany preferred
