Job Description

The Commercial Manager will join the Customer Aviation Contracting Team, focusing on sales and contracting of new and transitioning business. The role involves drafting, negotiating, and amending contractual documentation, as well as drafting proposals. This includes working with Sales to develop value analysis, proposition of guarantees, warranties, and service structures. The manager will draft new contracts, negotiate them, and instruct business on commitments, followed by a full handover of new business. This position also involves working with the Integrated Campaign Team to provide commercial input to sales strategy development, identifying value through commercial structures, service levels, and guarantees. The job requires working with various specialist teams, evaluating advice, and developing risk-based solutions to complex issues.

Commercial Manager

Full-Time

Derby/Hybrid (3 days a week on-site)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to join the Customer Aviation Contracting Team, focussing on Sales & Contracting of new and transitioning business.

Reporting to the VP - Commercial, Contracting Team, the role primarily involves drafting, negotiating, amending contractual documentation, as well as drafting Proposals, each as allocated by VP – Commercial, in accordance and in compliance with company/sector specific processes. You will work with Sales to develop the value analysis and proposition of guarantees, warranties and service structures during the sales campaign and contracting phases. You will be responsible for drafting new OE and transition contracts, negotiating them to an acceptable closing position, then instructing business on all contract commitments and complete a full handover of new business with Regional Customer Teams and GC Commercial Management Team.

What you will be doing:

You will work as part of an Integrated Campaign Team (ICT), to provide commercial input to the development of the sales strategy, identifying value though commercial structures, service levels and guarantees.

  • To work with Sales to identify and value campaign-specific competitive advantages / disadvantages of RR service structures/service levels/guarantees. This includes running sensitivity models (using standard and approved tools) and working with the Business Evaluations Operations and Capability teams, as appropriate.
  • Support or lead, where appropriate, the drafting, negotiating and amendment of allocated proposals and full suite of contracts in accordance with all relevant processes whilst assessing potential risks and liabilities.
  • To instruct new business agreements, gain commitment acceptance and then handover to the Regional Customer Teams and GC Commercial Management Team.
  • Interface with a wide variety of specialist teams, both within and external to the company, to obtain advice and guidance. To evaluate such advice and develop pragmatic risk-based solutions to complex, multi-dimensional issues to meet customer/supplier and business requirements.

There are demands for work outside the normal schedule for attendance and the position involves a requirement to travel overseas sometimes at short notice and for a sustained period.
