Job Description

The Computer Systems Technician at Walt Disney World provides vital hardware support across various business lines, troubleshooting issues with PCs, point-of-sale systems, mobile devices, and more. Responsibilities include resolving trouble tickets, collaborating with the network engineering team, and supporting guests and clients. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Field work may involve elevated platforms and confined spaces. The technician must be proficient in various operating systems (Windows, Android, iOS) and possess experience with POS equipment and MDM software. They will also assist in desktop/laptop refreshes and maintain wireless technology. The role requires handling cleaning chemicals and may involve additional PPE.
Must have:
  • 4+ years experience in computer hardware/software support and repair
  • Strong experience with Android, Mac OS, Windows 7/10
  • Experience with POS equipment troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
Good to have:
  • CompTIA Network+, MCP, MCSE, HP and Lenovo Certifications
  • Networking background (CCNA, CCNP, CNA)
  • Understanding of networking characteristics

The Computer Systems Tech is more than just a modern day computer technician. They provide hardware support to multiple lines of businesses. The Computer Systems Tech might respond to a laptop or PC error, point of sale issue, park ticketing booth call, a time clock concern, even a mobile device problem. The Computer Systems Tech is expected to resolve trouble tickets assigned to them by the end of each shift then communicate back to the team on statuses. The Computer System Tech might be expected to complete work alone or in a team environment, all the while supporting guests and clients, so strong guest service skills are a must. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.


The pay rate for this role in Florida is $38.93 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and configuring of the following:
    • Point of Sale machines and attached peripherals
    • All mobile devices, including IOS, Android, EPTT, etc.
    • Desktop and laptop devices.
    • Black box devices as assigned, EX: ONT’s, STB, IOT, Etc.
  • Support an environment of wireless technology
  • Assist in executing the delivery of desktop and laptop refreshes
  • Collaborate with the network engineering team and service suppliers
  • Works to resolve routine issues as assigned
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in computer software and hardware support and repair.
  • Strong Experience with Android OS, Mac OS, Mobile Device Management (MDM) software
  • Strong Experience with Windows 7 and 10 operating systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Possess HP Desktop/Notebook and IBM Lenovo Certifications or ability to obtain in 90 days of hire
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting Point of Sale equipment
    • PAX, Tap to Pay, receipt printers, cash drawers, etc.
    • HP Engage One Terminal
    • Zebra ET45 & ET56 Tablets
    • Android OS Configuration
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in office software programs and mobile electronic devices
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of theme park and resort operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • COMPTIA Network+ Certification, MCP, MCSE, HP and Lenovo Certification
  • Other relatable computer certifications
  • Good mechanical and electronic aptitude
  • Networking background, possible CCNA, CCNP, CNA
  • Understanding of networking characteristics such as: ip routing, switching, OSI model principles, DHCP, VLAN.

Required Education

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or 4 years equivalent work experience

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Video or 6 years equivalent work experience
