What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

Managing labelling operations and improving team guidelines and quality assurance processes for labellers’ output to meet Canva's standards. You will also help manage the capacity for labelling projects, ensuring that the team maximizes its manpower and projects are smoothly deployed.

You’ll do this by:

• Overseeing operations of recurring labelling projects across all Data Labelling Teams
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives for labelling guidelines and quality standards
• Ensuring team adherence to Canva's high-quality label standards through regular audits and training
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for team processes and spearhead strategic improvements
• Enhancing team visibility and managing key stakeholder relationships
• Analyzing and reporting on quality assurance and labelling trends to stakeholders
• Assisting in contractor management-related tasks, including hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
• Collaborating with the Data Labelling Lead to design and implement projects that optimize labelling processes, guidelines, and tools
• Helping manage resource allocation and capacity planning across EU and PH labelling teams
• Driving cross-functional initiatives to improve operational efficiency and output quality

You're probably a match if

• You have Operational background with strong experience working in a collaborative environment
• Basic knowledge of data annotation
• Experience as a multimedia designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of visual communication fundamentals is a plus
• Experience in working across timezones (with labellers in Vienna and Philippines and most internal customers in Sydney).
• Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• Ability to quickly adapt and learn in a dynamic environment
• Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Canva's Generative AI Platform Group is responsible for the delivery of capabilities which empower transformational ML and AI initiatives, from early ideation and prototyping, through to scaling to meet the needs of millions of Canva users in production. We empower thousands of engineers and product managers to deliver amazing product features which harness the power of cutting-edge technologies. 

Data Labelling PH is a key team within this subgroup, currently comprising of one in-house Lead and 18 contractors based in the Philippines. Our goal is to effectively mobilize our contractors, leveraging the team's strengths to efficiently address customer requests while maintaining high quality standards.
