The TV Partner Engineering and Operations (TVPO) team at YouTube is shaping the future of premium subscription content. As Director, TV Partner Engineering and Operations, you'll be the key operational leader for YouTube’s premium video connected TV offerings, ensuring seamless delivery and an excellent content viewing experience. You will own content operations for Live TV, VOD, and metadata across three YouTube Connected TV services - YouTube TV, Primetime Channels (premium content subscriptions on YouTube), and Free Primetime Content (ad-supported movies and shows). You'll own the content delivery lifecycle, including partner technical integration/onboarding, asset and metadata ingestion, performance optimization and service quality, and incident management. You’ll oversee a technical partner management team that interfaces with industry leading TV networks and Media companies globally. You’ll apply deep technical knowledge to lead and define solutions to scale, improve, and automate operational processes. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll incubate and scale new processes, advocate for data-driven decision-making, and lead a global team of talented executive managers and individuals.
Must have:
  • 15 years of experience in product operations, project management, or equivalent
  • Experience with people management, coaching, and mentoring scaled, international teams
  • Domain-specific or relevant experience in TV, OTT, or Media and Entertainment industry
  • Experience with modern software development concepts and 1 or more programming languages, Networking/APIs, video transcoding and specifications, or content management and publishing
Good to have:
  • 10 years of experience managing vendor/contractor teams and running large-scale operations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, especially engineering, product, and business development
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement, and excellent written and verbal communication skills

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $261,000-$374,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Provide steering and guidance for a technical account management team interfacing with industry leading TV networks and Media Companies.
  • Oversee day-to-day TV operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery across multiple YouTube products.
  • Define, track, and improve key metrics (e.g., volume, quality, impact) to drive operational efficiency.
  • Forecast and manage operational expenses, design scalable processes, and leverage automation for future growth.
  • Pilot and scale new operational processes to support new products and features, implement tools and automation solutions for future scale and growth.
