About the job:
As a GEO Auto Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical relationship with our automotive partners, particularly for integrating our GEO products. You'll lead the integration of Google Maps and Automotive SDK on partner IVI systems, troubleshoot issues, and act as a consultant. You'll balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative solutions, and build tools to automate products. You will oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's partnerships and contribute to product strategy, prioritization, and resource allocation.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6 years of experience in system design or programming (Java, C++, Python)
  • 6 years of experience in technical troubleshooting
  • 6 years of experience managing partners or customers
  • 5 years of experience as a technical consultant in the Automotive field
  • Lead automotive partners in integrating Google Maps and Automotive SDK
  • Manage partner relationships and drive issue resolutions
  • Represent partner requirements, constraints, and roadmaps to internal teams
  • Support the Geo Auto Forward Deployed Engineering team as a subject matter expert
  • Work closely with Geo Auto, Geo Developer, and Android teams
Good to have:
  • 8 years of experience managing projects
  • Experience with Navigation technologies
  • Experience working with Android Auto

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in either system design or in one programming language (Java, C++, Python, etc.)
  • 6 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.
  • 5 years of experience as a technical consultant in the Automotive field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing projects and working with Navigation technologies
  • Experience working with Android Auto

About the job

As a GEO Auto Forward Deployed Engineer you will be responsible for the technical relationship of our automotive partners , especially for our GEO products integration. You will lead the efforts to enable Google Map and Automotive SDK integration on the partner’s IVI systems. You triage the issues which were raised from your partner and land it with reasonable manners. You will be able to balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative, cutting edge solutions and act as a partner and consultant to those you are working with. You will also be able to build tools and automate products, oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's partnerships, as well as develop product strategy and prioritize projects and resources.


Responsibilities

  • Lead automotive partners as they integrate Google Maps and Automotive Software Development Kit (SDK) across complex domains including Automotive Operating System (OS) platforms, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) components, and in-vehicle infotainment.
  • Manage the automotive partner relationship and be responsible for driving issue resolutions including bugs, missing functionality, and feature requests.
  • Internally represent the requirements, constraints and roadmap of automotive partners to inform product development.
  • Support the Geo Auto Forward Deployed Engineering team as a subject matter expert.
  • Work closely with teams across the Geo Auto, Geo Developer, and Android organizations to ensure Google provides a uniform and complete automotive solution.
