Job Description

Voldex, a leading gaming company focused on Roblox, is seeking a Head of Franchise Management to lead the global expansion of Brookhaven, a highly popular Roblox game, into a recognized youth entertainment brand. This role involves defining brand identity, developing storylines and characters, expanding into video content and YouTube, and launching licensing and consumer products. The Head of Franchise Management will collaborate with internal creative teams and external partners, manage licensing strategies, negotiate partnerships, and oversee product quality. This leadership position also offers the opportunity to develop franchises for future acquired properties and is responsible for growing Voldex's out-licensing revenue stream. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating iconic intellectual property and leading franchise growth across multiple verticals, with a strong understanding of the under-18 audience and YouTube content creation.
Must have:
  • Experience creating iconic intellectual property outside its initial medium

About Brookhaven

But Brookhaven’s presence today is almost entirely inside the Roblox platform. We believe its potential goes far beyond that.

Brookhaven has the scale, fandom, and creative flexibility to evolve into a franchise with storytelling, characters, video content, and consumer products that reach players wherever they are. Now we’re looking for the right person to lead that evolution.

The Role

As our Head of Franchise Management you'll lead the charge in transforming Brookhaven into a globally-recognized entertainment brand.

You’ll define the brand identity, develop an original storyline, cast of characters, iconic elements, expand into video content/YouTube, and launch licensing and consumer products across categories.

You’ll collaborate closely with the Brookhaven game team and a small internal creative team you will be expected to hire, as well as external video content studios, YouTubers, and licensing partners.

This is a leadership role within our executive team, and the Head of Franchise Management will be expected to work hands-on with a small team. While Brookhaven is currently our only title with significant franchise potential, we are an acquisitive company, and this role will have the opportunity to lead franchise development for the properties we acquire in the future as opportunities arise. This role will have full accountability for creating and growing Voldex’s out-licensing revenue stream.

Key Responsibilities:

IP Building

  • Define Brookhaven’s brand identity, values, tone, and iconic elements that can live beyond the game

  • Create an engaging universe, cast of characters, and evolving narrative that connects with our core 7-12 year old audience

  • Lead the development of original storytelling and video content, including an official YouTube presence

  • Hire and manage a small internal creative team and external animation/content production partners

  • Build a consistent brand style guide and ensure creative alignment across all channels and licensees

  • Partner with top YouTubers and influencers to extend the Brookhaven narrative and community reach

Commercial

  • Develop & execute a short, medium, and long-term licensing strategy to expand Brookhaven’s IP into new categories and create new revenue streams

  • Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships with leading licensees, retailers, etc.

  • Establish and lead partnerships with licensing agencies to represent Brookhaven as applicable

  • Oversee licensing & merchandising relationships to ensure Brookhaven-branded products are high-quality, authentic, and aligned with the brand’s identity

  • Manage multiple license vectors simultaneously, such as toys, school supplies, apparel, and more

  • Fully own and have commercial responsibility for Voldex’s franchise and outlicensing P&L; collaborate with finance team

Role Requirements:

  • Prior contributions to creating iconic intellectual property that was successfully exploited outside of its initial medium

  • Significant experience with leading a franchise with a significant YouTube or videogame presence

  • Proven understanding of YouTube content creation and storytelling including content creation pipeline, character arcs, and narrative structure

  • High understanding of the under-18 audience

  • Proven track record of defining an IP’s DNA/style guide/strategy/etc. essentially from scratch to enable franchise expansion

  • Deep understanding of what makes a brand or IP iconic, commercializable outside of its initial medium

  • Proven track record of expanding an IP from one medium to multiple categories

  • Experience leading and executing franchise growth across multiple verticals, such as toys, video content, books apparel, etc. in a startup environment

  • Managerial experience, with the ability to effectively hire and manage individual contributors.

  • Strong track record of successful dealmaking with major brands, studios, and licensing partners

  • Deep knowledge of brand strategy and world-building, ensuring Brookhaven’s expansion remains authentic and engaging

  • Strong ability to understand qualitative and quantitative data

Desired Outcomes:

  • You have developed clear iconic elements for Brookhaven that are commercializable outside of Roblox

  • You have led the creation of popular video content for Brookhaven that expands upon its newly-created iconic elements and improves storytelling

  • You’ve improved Brookhaven’s storyline to be more clear and loved by the community

  • You have successfully worked with the Brookhaven game team to create and nurture iconic elements that most Brookhaven fans recognize and love

  • You have developed a clear short, medium and long-term franchise and commercial plan for Brookhaven’s off-platform revenue streams

  • You have established successful strategic partnerships successfully with key video content, licensing, and consumer product/toy/apparel companies

  • You led successful launches of Brookhaven products at major retailers (Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc.)

  • You have successfully hired exceptional team members to enable franchise expansion efforts

  • You have developed and shared a clear, profound understanding of Brookhaven’s audience with the broader company and licensees

  • You have built trust and great relationships internally with our team; you have become a trusted partner to the Brookhaven game team and our leadership team
