The Legal Contracts Manager at Paytm First Games will provide comprehensive legal support, focusing on compliance and risk management within the real money gaming sector in India. Key responsibilities include overseeing legal aspects of operations, advising on regulatory matters (licensing, compliance, advertising), conducting risk assessments, and developing mitigation strategies. The role also involves extensive contract management (drafting, reviewing, negotiating vendor agreements, licensing agreements, marketing agreements, and user terms). Close collaboration with internal teams (product, marketing, finance) is crucial for proactive legal support and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate possesses 7-8 years of experience in legal practice, specializing in gaming sectors and Indian laws related to online gaming, gambling, data privacy, and intellectual property.
Must have:
- 7-8 years experience in legal practice focusing on gaming
- In-depth knowledge of Indian gaming laws
- Contract negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution expertise
- Strong communication, negotiation, and drafting skills
- Oversee legal compliance and risk management
Good to have:
- LLM or professional certifications
- Familiarity with international gaming laws

complex landscape of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters within the real money gaming sector.
Role Overview:
As a Manager , you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across the organization, with a primary focus on ensuring legal compliance, and risk management within the real money gaming space. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including product, marketing, compliance, and finance teams, to provide
strategic legal counsel and ensure that all activities align with relevant laws and regulations in India.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Compliance & Risk Management:
o Oversee the legal aspects of the company's operations, ensuring compliance with Indian gaming laws, online gambling regulations, and other relevant legal frameworks.
o Advise on regulatory matters, including licensing, compliance, advertising, and consumer protection laws in the context of real money gaming.
o Stay up to date with evolving regulations in the gaming and tech sectors to ensure the business remains compliant.
o Conduct legal risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate legal and operational risks.
o Assist in obtaining and renewing licenses and permits necessary for the company's operations in India
o Advise senior management on corporate governance matters, including compliance with company law, data privacy laws, and internal policies.
o Develop and implement internal policies, guidelines, and training programs to ensure that all employees are aware of legal requirements and best practices.
Contract Management:
o Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, game / platform licensing agreements, marketing agreements, collections and payment support services, and user terms & conditions.
o Drafting and final vetting of all sell side and buy side agreements, lease deeds, NDA, addendums, policies and guidelines etc. in discussion with customer, vendor, landlord, concerned departments. Includes interaction and
negotiation with customers or vendors on important clauses. Ensure company has valid contracts that protect company’s interest with all the parties and comply with applicable laws and protect the company’s interests.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development,
and finance, to provide proactive legal support and mitigate potential risks in
business strategies.
o Offer guidance on promotional campaigns, user data management, and other
operational matters to ensure they align with legal and regulatory standards.
Experience:
o Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in legal practice, with a focus on gaming
sectors.
o In-depth knowledge of Indian laws relating to online gaming, gambling, data
privacy, intellectual property, and consumer protection.
o Experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution.
o Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape governing real money
gaming in India.
o Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
o Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively across different business functions.
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
o Familiarity with international gaming laws and cross-border compliance is a
plus.
Qualifications:
Education: LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university; additional qualifications such as an LLM or professional certifications in relevant fields are a plus.
