About the Team:

Are you passionate about shaping atmosphere and mood in games through lighting? Insomniac Games is seeking a creative and driven Lighting Intern to join our team! If you're excited to learn the ins and outs of lighting in game development, from post-processing and lighting setups for levels and cinematics, to maintaining performance and collaborating across departments, this is the opportunity for you.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Collaborate with seasoned developers to gain hands-on experience in creating world-class games
• Contribute to team meetings by sharing insights and fresh ideas
• Take ownership of assigned tasks, completing them within deadlines
• Communicate effectively with teammates and seek guidance when needed
• Continuously develop your skills through mentorship from lighting and other departments

What We're Looking For:

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate degree related to game development with a focus on lighting
• Projected to graduate by Spring 2026.
• Self-motivated, with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Solid understanding of composition principles and art content creation
• Open to receiving feedback and providing constructive critiques

Eligibility:

• Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
• Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
• Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
•  Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.
