About You

The 3D Generalist thrives in an environment with the freedom to leverage all aspects of our pipeline to get assets and shots to final. They are good communicators who can give and receive feedback and apply it to their work. They will accomplish project specific tasks and be responsible for maintaining a high level overview of the status and quality of their progress. They possess strong expert knowledge of all 3D skills needed to accomplish the task. They are responsible for models, textures, surfaces, look development and rigging of characters, sets and props.

Your Role

  • Take an asset or shot to a final quality hitting all notes.
  • Model, texture, lookdev, and render assets.
  • Fluent with node-based shading networks
  • Participate as a team member in determining various design and technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of color spaces and global illumination problems and techniques.
  • Meet project milestones and deadlines on time;
  • Mentor junior artists and set a positive example for the team
  • Collaborate with other artists to share knowledge and techniques. 
  • Communicate with other departments to receive feedback and resolve shot issues. 
  • Assist in planning conversations about the direction of Assets while being mindful of the continuity for the entire show/sequence.

Your Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry experience in commercials, film, or television.
  • Strong eye for creating realistic models.
  • Expertise in modeling, UV creation, and texturing, with proficiency in at least one additional area of VFX.
  • Ability to create both hard surface and organic models.
  • Proficient in software such as Blender, Maya, Houdini, ZBrush, Substance, and Mari.
  • Ability to take direction well, collaborate effectively in a team, and perform under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of various aspects of the VFX pipeline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize work across multiple tasks.

Salary Range: $32.00 - $50.00 per hour. 

This range denotes the minimum and maximum compensation limits for this role within the province of British Columbia, adhering to local legal requirements. It's essential to recognize that the salary range for this position may vary when compared to markets outside of British Columbia, with potential variations in both lower and higher figures. The base pay offered is contingent upon factors including internal equity assessments and elements such as the candidate's geographic location, job-related expertise, skills, experience, and other pertinent qualifications.
